You Asked For It, You Got It …Canvas Tutorials!
It’s one hour before your online assignment is due and you can’t get the video you need to upload into the Canvas system! [Insert Panic Here]
If you’ve ever been in this situation, it’s not the best feeling. So, we are excited to announce that a Canvas Tutorial is now available to Avila Advantage students.
Did You know? Canvas, the web-based learning management system used for all online classes is also the system used by students to download all course modules (class syllabus, book list, supplemental learning material), for online AND face-to-face classes. It is also the tool students use to select preferred methods of communication, the system that allows students to collaborate on group projects online, and has many features instrumental in the success of taking an online class.
Log on now to start exploring Canvas and verify personal computer capabilities, view instructional videos and practice uploading “play” assignments. Here’s how:
1. Log on to Canvas (avila.insructure.com or click on the Canvas icon at avila.edu)
2. Choose Advantage Modules and Resources (You must be self-enrolled, view instructions here: http://www.avila.edu/advantage/pdfs/2014-2015_Student_Guidebook.pdf)
3. Select “Preparing for your First Online Course”
Don’t wait until the last minute. Take Advantage of this new learning tool before your classes begin…practice makes perfect!
